Launch of the New Fibromyalgia Guidelines.

The Pain Relief Foundation was very honoured to be able to support and attend the launch of the new Fibromyalgia guidelines at the Royal college of Physicians in their new headquarters in the Spine building in Liverpool.

The guidelines are a collaboration of work from our very own health professionals here in Merseyside & health professional from around the country and fibromyalgia patients. The hope is that these guidelines can help reduce the suffering endured by these patients particularly because of misunderstanding and difficulty recognising the condition and lead to improved lives and outcomes for patients.

Special thanks to the patients Helen Robinson & Marcia Glanvill, it was good to meet you, they supported & gave their input on this invisible illness.

Karen Porter from Royal College of Physicians,

Dr Andreas Goebel from Pain Research Institute,

Dr Chris Barker from The Royal College of general practitioners,

Dr David Andersson from King’s College London,

Professor Paul May from The Walton Centre

And finally, David Cain our Chairman  who all gave a short talk.

In such a short time the guidelines have been downloaded over 4,000 times!! Let’s hope more and more pain sufferers will be diagnosed sooner.
